Environmental Protection
Safeguarding the Environment.
One of our most innovative programs and an area that is visited by both wildlife and those interested in the environmental engineering is our poplar tree grove.
The Academy of Environmental Engineering awarded us their Excellence in Engineering grand prize for our environmentally innovative program that uses our waste-water (leachate) to irrigate a 45-acre poplar tree grove. This innovate program works in harmony with nature to safely manage the leachate and generate high quality lumber and pulp used to make paper.
Riverbend is certified by the Wildlife Habitat Council for our commitment to wildlife habitat, wetlands enhancement and riparian forest along the banks of the Yamhill River and tributaries. With a team of some of the Northwest's finest engineers and ecologists, we continually tap into this type of ingenuity and the latest technologies to protect our soil, water and environment.
